North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) has opened its third Business Learning Center in the state at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in North Charleston. This resource will increase SCMEP’s ability to serve the training and workforce development needs of manufacturing companies in the Lowcountry and across South Carolina.

“Our goal is to increase the maturity of the local supply chain in support of the emerging automotive and aviation industries in the Lowcountry,” said Brian Kuney, Regional Vice President for SCMEP.

SCMEP uses a strategic, hands-on, partnering approach to help South Carolina companies improve their competitiveness, performance, and profitability in today’s increasingly demanding global economy. Short-term courses offered at the Lowcountry Graduate Center will include ISO 9001 Auditor Training, Problem Solving, Front Line Leadership, as well as Lean Six Sigma and other topics targeted to the needs of the local business community.
