Introduction to MFG 4.0
June 12, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm$15
Please join SCMEP and representatives from three Upstate South Carolina firms leading the way in providing MFG 4.0 solutions to manufacturers. This exciting event will feature separate sessions on the application of Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, and the use of software to create motivational and productive work environments. Lunch will be provided.
Session 1: Uses and Benefits of Smart Glasses and Augmented Reality Solutions on the Shop Floor – Stijn Van de Velde, Gemba Systems Inc.
What if you could achieve double-digit productivity and quality improvements, quickly and easily, with little investment and very low risk? Join us to learn how your operators, quality inspectors, and maintenance technicians can get their jobs done faster, more accurately, and safer, thanks to augmented reality solutions using smart glasses technology!
In this session, we will discuss the technology, use cases, benefits, ROI, adoption hurdles, and implementation best practices. We will share other companies’ experiences and successes and answer any questions you may have. Most importantly: we’ll be doing in-depth live demonstrations of digital work instructions and remote assistance solutions using smart glasses!
Session 2: The Future Is Now: Using Artificial Intelligence to Improve Operations – Rick Oppedisano, Delta Bravo
In February 2019, Rolls Royce MTU began an AI journey to improve first pass yield and save the company millions. Questions arose instantly: could Machine Learning and AI really predict quality issues before they impacted production? With AI being so new, what are the processes for budgeting and vendor selection? How will we operationalize these new capabilities?
Our featured speaker is Rick Oppedisano, CEO of Delta Bravo AI. Rick was recently featured on the cover of Smart Manufacturing Magazine’s November 2018 AI Innovation issue. Rick will share real world stories and lessons learned in deploying AI to improve first pass quality at Rolls Royce MTU. He’ll cover Best Practices and Lessons Learned from this groundbreaking project, sharing guidance to help fine-tune your approach to Machine Learning and AI.
Session 3: Creating Motivational and Productive Work Environments in Manufacturing – Richard Bergeron, DECIDE4ACTION
The session will include a discussion on current manufacturing floor environments and work structures, and what drives employees to work more efficiently, productively and smartly. Discuss the success of implementing “Game Theory” principles, “Pain vs Gain,” in structuring processes, routines, and best practices.
DECIDE4ACTION will demonstrate how a combination of artificial intelligence, factory automation and complex algorithms can help eliminate the middleman, automate decisions and facilitate necessary interactions with the appropriate parties. Tasks are no longer put off or overlooked and human error can be a thing of the past.
