SCMEP leverages its holistic approach to providing services for manufacturers to its information technology offerings. The same methodology that enables manufacturing specialists to quickly identify the "limiting factors" in customers' facilities is used to make your technology initiatives successful.
SCMEP offers services in three areas:
- Assessment - identification of opportunities and trouble spots.
- Planning - IT strategic planning and project prioritization.
- Implementation - vendor selection and project management services.
An SCMEP IT Assessment provides the same type of feedback you receive in a Competitiveness Review, but with more focus on your IT environment. You come away with a better idea as to where you stand relative to other manufacturers. We also identify trouble spots such as IT security.
SCMEP also offers IT Strategic Planning services. We help you understand how to leverage technology to achieve business goals. The end product is a "roadmap" with a prioritized list of IT projects to be orchestrated based on your resource, operational and competitive needs.
Finally, we bring a variety of services and resources to the table to help you implement your IT Plan. These include:
- Hardware Specification and Selection - data center, networking, telephone and data needs.
- Software Specification and Selection- Financial, ERP, Shop Floor Management, Internet and Supply Chain Management software needs.
- Vendor Selection - We can recommend a list of "pre-certified" vendors, or help you make the right decision among vendors with which you are already working.
- Project Management - Most small companies don't have an IT staff in house. We provide seasoned professionals to increase the likelihood your projects will be successful.
- Technology Resource Center - monthly newsletter and articles that provide a quick resource for many technology needs (below)
